KLAS Research compiles its annual “Best in KLAS” report based on the 2,500 interviews with providers and payers at more than 4,500 hospitals and 2,500 clinics that it conducts each month, during which the market research firm asks respondents to evaluate and rank their software and services vendors. Vendors are ranked on a scale of 0 to 100, including feedback in six performance categories: culture, relationship, operations, product, value and loyalty.
KLAS Research included 11 vendors in its overall patient portal ranking for 2019, however, two vendors — Change Health and Meditech — were omitted from the ranking due to small sample size.
The nine patient portals and their overall ranking:
- Epic MyChart: 92.1
- Athenahealth athenaCommunicator: 84.8
- Medhost YourCareCommunity: 78.3
- Cerner HealtheLife: 77.2
- Greenway Health: 75.9
- eClinicalWorks: 73.2
- Medfusion: 72.2
- Allscripts FollowMyHealth: 65.2
- NextGen Healthcare: 65.2
