Epic requests lower award in Tata case; Cerner claims largest EMR market share; athenahealth adds former Amazon CFO to board — 11 health IT key notes

Here are 11 recent news updates on key health IT companies.

1.  MEDITECH customers can now access a Sepsis Management Toolkit to support early detection and treatment of sepsis.

2. When Apple releases its latest operating system, iOS 10, this fall, iPhone users will reportedly be able to request access to their medical records through the Health app.

3. Apple is developing software for "differential privacy," which will allow the company to gather data and glean insights on user behavior while upholding individual privacy.

4. Fallon Community Health plans to use McKesson Diagnostics Exchange to manage payments for molecular diagnostic testing.

5. Tom Szkutak, former CFO of Amazon.com, joined athenahealth's board of directors, which became effective Tuesday.
