While 54 percent of poll respondents said they felt very or at least somewhat concerned that an unauthorized person might gain access to their medical records, less than half of younger aged survey participants expressed the same concern.
When polled on their level of concern regarding unauthorized users accessing their EHRs, respondents said:
Ages 18-29: 17 percent very concerned, 25 percent somewhat concerned.
Ages 30-49: 28 percent very concerned, 28 percent somewhat concerned.
Ages 50-64: 37 percent very concerned, 23 percent somewhat concerned.
Ages 65 and up: 29 percent very concerned, 24 percent somewhat concerned.
