The letter grades EHR vendors get for interoperability

Interoperability has long been a goal of many in the healthcare industry, with EHR vendors playing a big role in how well providers can share and receive patient data.

Here are how those companies rank on interoperability, according to a March 16 KLAS Research study that surveyed 180 of their customers.

The report considered such factors as connectivity, utility, use cases, outcomes and adoption.

Enterprise EHR vendors:

1. Epic: B-

2. Oracle Cerner: C+

3. Meditech: C-

Ambulatory care EHR vendors:

1. NextGen Healthcare: B

2. Athenahealth: B-

3. Greenway Health: F

Altera Digital Health and eClinicalWorks didn’t provide enough customers for their data to be comparable.
