The system will cost the department $238,000, paid from the health department’s cash reserves, John Morrow, MD, director of the Pitt County Health Department, told The Daily Reflector. The EHR system will allow the department to integrate patient records with participating health systems and will help streamline physician workflows.
“We can look at UNC-Chapel Hill, Wake Forest and even in hospitals in California,” Dr. Morrow said, according to The Daily Reflector. “It really gives us a huge advantage in accessing information.”
