Apple’s health records feature for iPhone allows individuals to view their personal health data, including lab results, medications and past procedures, directly from the Health app on their mobile device. Apple based the health records app on fast healthcare interoperability resources guidelines, which are a standard for transferring electronic medical records.

Physicians Regional Healthcare System, which is owned by Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems, is one of an estimated 100 CHS-affiliated hospitals with access to Apple’s health records app.
