Oracle Health and surgical intelligence company Theator are collaborating to bring AI-powered surgical documentation and analytics tools to Oracle Health customers.
The partnership will enable surgical teams to use Theator’s technology, which captures surgical video footage and analyzes it alongside electronic health record data, to automate operative reporting without transcription or dictation, according to a June 24 news release.
Theator’s platform analyzes surgical video as procedures occur, identifying procedural steps, safety milestones and clinically significant events. The system then generates a structured operative report that surgeons can review and sign within their existing workflow.
The companies said the technology is designed to address longstanding documentation challenges in operating rooms, where surgeons often complete reports hours or days after procedures.
The collaboration aims to automate surgical documentation while helping providers capture procedural details and use those insights to improve quality, safety and efficiency.
