Holy Cross Medical Center plans to launch a new Meditech Expanse EHR system and patient portal June 1 across its hospital and clinic network.
The transition is part of a multiyear project aimed at improving care coordination, communication and patient access throughout Taos, N.M.-based Holy Cross Medical Center. The new EHR system will be implemented at Holy Cross Hospital, Holy Cross Cardiology, Holy Cross Primary Care, Holy Cross Surgical Specialties, Holy Cross Women’s Health Institute, Taos Clinic for Children and Youth and Holy Cross Orthopedics, according to a May 11 news release.
Holy Cross selected Meditech Expanse after reviewing three EHR options designed for rural hospitals. Hospital officials said preparation for the transition has included workflow reviews, staff education and process updates across the organization ahead of the June 1 launch.
