Mississippi DOH, U of Mississippi Medical Center partner on Epic Connect project

The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson and the Mississippi State Department of Health partnered to link EHRs under a project called UMMC Epic Connect, the Jackson Free Press reports.

UMMC has used an Epic EHR since 2012. UMMC Epic Connect gives the medical center the capability of linking EHRs with healthcare facilities across Mississippi. The Mississippi State Department of Health, which is transitioning to Epic from paper charts, is the project’s first customer.

The University of Mississippi Medical Center’s information systems division launched a pilot version of UMMC Epic Connect at nine of the Mississippi State Department of Health’s clinics in early 2018. The EHR went live at the remaining 77 clinics Feb. 12.
