Using Nuance’s Dragon Medical voice-assistant platform, clinicians will be able to retrieve patient lists and search patient charts for lab results, vital signs and medications simply by verbalizing requests to the system. This artificial intelligence-powered tool will be able to automate clinical and administrative tasks for clinician end-users, according to Meditech and Nuance.
“In the past decade, virtual assistants have become more and more ingrained in our everyday lives,” Hoda Sayed-Friel, executive vice president at Meditech, said in a news release. “Using this seamless integration, providers can more efficiently and conveniently engage with the EHR using a conversational user interface.”
