New Roads, La.-based Pointe Coupee General Hospital went live with an Epic EHR system Nov. 1 through a partnership with Baton Rouge, La.-based Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.

The implementation follows months of preparation and staff training and is part of a partnership announced in October 2025 with Our Lady of the Lake, a member of Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System, according to a Nov. 1 news release.

The new system gives hospital staff real-time access to patient records, streamlines registration and supports care coordination across facilities using Epic. Patient medical histories, lab results and imaging can now be securely shared with care teams at other Epic facilities, according to the hospital.

“We have been anticipating this day since we first announced our partnership with Our Lady of the Lake last fall, and we are excited that Epic is now live,” Pointe Coupee General Hospital CEO Chad Olinde said in the news release. “Our dedicated staff has worked tirelessly to train on this new system and ensure a smooth transition for our community.”

The hospital also launched Epic’s MyChart patient portal, allowing patients to manage appointments, message their care teams, request prescription refills, view test results and pay medical bills.
