Meditech announced the death of Chief Business Development Officer Jim Merlin, who spent four decades with the electronic health record company.
Mr. Merlin joined Meditech in 1986 as controller before serving as chief accounting officer from 2014 to 2022. He was appointed chief business development officer in April 2022, according to his LinkedIn profile.
According to a July 9 news release, Mr. Merlin helped lead the company’s strategic initiatives throughout his 40-year career while building longstanding relationships with colleagues, customers and business partners. The company said his expertise and ability to foster longstanding connections left a lasting mark on the organization.
Meditech described Mr. Merlin as both a leader and mentor whose influence extended beyond his business responsibilities, saying he had a positive impact on employees throughout the company.
The company also extended its condolences to Mr. Merlin’s family, including his wife, Patti; children, Emily and Sean; and granddaughter, Rose.
