Pikeville (Ky.) Medical Center has launched MyChart Bedside, a digital platform designed to help hospitalized patients access real-time information about their care during inpatient stays.

The platform enables patients to view daily schedules, medications, upcoming tests and educational materials tailored to their condition, according to a May 5 health system news release. It is accessible through patients’ mobile devices.

Hospital leaders said the platform is intended to improve transparency and help patients better understand their care during hospitalization. The platform is also designed to strengthen bedside communication between patients and care teams by providing easier access to care plans, test results and provider information.
