Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare has completed the first large-scale phase of its systemwide EHR rollout, bringing Meditech Expanse live at 43 hospitals.
The hospitals are now operating on the cloud-based EHR platform, according to a Jan. 13 news release from Meditech. HCA Healthcare, one of the nation’s largest healthcare providers, operates 191 hospitals and about 2,500 care sites across 20 U.S. states and the United Kingdom.
The rollout is part of a multiyear agreement to deploy the EHR across more HCA Healthcare facilities and builds on more than 30 years of collaboration between the health system and Meditech, according to the release.
With the initial wave complete, HCA Healthcare plans to bring the EHR system live at more hospitals in the coming months. The organization is also working with Meditech and other vendors to develop and scale clinician-focused AI tools aimed at improving efficiency and the patient experience, according to the release.
