Epic Systems was named to Time’s list of the most influential health and life sciences companies of 2026.
The ranking, released April 27, is part of Time’s expanded TIME100 Companies franchise, which now includes sector-specific lists highlighting organizations shaping their industries.
Time said the companies were selected based on their influence in advancing healthcare innovation, spanning areas such as artificial intelligence, genomics, digital health and medical devices.
The companies named to the health and life sciences list are:
- Epic Systems: Recognized for integrating AI across its EHR platform, including tools for clinicians, patients and administrative workflows, and for developing large-scale medical models using anonymized patient data.
- Novo Nordisk: Cited for launching the first FDA-approved oral GLP-1 weight loss drug, offering a more accessible alternative to injectable treatments.
- Genentech: Highlighted for its continued biotechnology innovation, including a newly approved stroke treatment that can be administered in seconds.
- Sprout Pharmaceuticals: Included after expanded FDA approval of its drug Addyi for postmenopausal women, addressing a gap in treatment for female sexual dysfunction.
- Tempus: Recognized for applying AI and genomic data to personalize cancer treatment and expand precision medicine capabilities.
- Beam Therapeutics: Noted for its base editing technology, which enables precise genetic changes without cutting DNA strands.
- Biolinq: Selected for developing a needle-free glucose monitoring patch designed to simplify tracking for patients.
- HistoSonics: Recognized for its noninvasive ultrasound technology that destroys tumors without surgery or radiation.
- Maven Clinic: Highlighted for expanding access to virtual care services focused on women’s health.
- Medtronic: Included for its robotic-assisted surgery platform aimed at increasing adoption of minimally invasive procedures.
