Chicago-based CommonSpirit Health has cut its EHR count from 19 to nine over the past 24 months as it moves toward a single Epic instance by the end of fiscal 2030, CFO Michael Browning said during the system’s fiscal 2026 year-end investor webcast.

About 67% of CommonSpirit’s facilities are now on Epic, according to the Oct. 2 call. The system had 11 EHRs as of May, Becker’s reported at the time.

The health system, which has over 150 hospitals, will also pause its Epic rollout during its Workday ERP cutover to reduce operational risk, Mr. Browning said.

Five states in CommonSpirit’s South region will move to a single Epic instance at the end of October. The Pacific Northwest will follow in spring 2027. After a pause, the West Coast conversion will begin in fiscal 2028. Mr. Browning said the system had previously projected Epic work would run through 2032 but moved the timeline up two years after deciding to insource its revenue cycle.

The Workday ERP go-live remains on track for July 1, 2027, and will retire more than nine legacy platforms.
