Allscripts closed on its acquisition of McKesson’s hospital and health system IT business Oct. 2. To investigate client attitudes, Black Book surveyed 280 hospital leaders using McKesson’s Paragon IT products about whether the Allscripts acquisition would impact their decision-making in the next 24 months.
None of the respondents indicated they budgeted funds to replace McKesson’s Enterprise Information Solutions products during the next year, according to the survey.
Eighteen percent of technology leadership reported EHR replacement was part of three-year strategic initiatives, although 81 percent said they were receptive to considering the Allscripts Sunrise EHR.
