Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Avera Health plans to go live with Epic on May 30.
The health system, which has over 40 hospitals across South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska and North Dakota, said in July 2024 it was installing the new EHR.
“This decision marks a pivotal moment in our commitment to providing the highest standard of care and operational excellence,” Avera President and CEO Jim Dover told Becker’s at the time. “It’s the right decision for where we are as a health system and where we are heading in the future.”
Patients will start using Epic’s MyChart patient portal May 30, according to a notice on the health system’s website.
At the Becker's 11th Annual IT + Revenue Cycle Conference: The Future of AI & Digital Health, taking place September 14–17 in Chicago, healthcare executives and digital leaders from across the country will come together to explore how AI, interoperability, cybersecurity, and revenue cycle innovation are transforming care delivery, strengthening financial performance, and driving the next era of digital health.
