The IT disruption occurred between 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. May 29 and affected all seven of AHN’s hospitals, causing delays to some scheduled medical procedures and lack of access to the EHR system, according to the report. Additionally, the outage caused downtime to Epic’s patient portal, which allows AHN patients to view their health records and physician notes.
An AHN spokesperson told Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that all systems had been restored and were “functioning normally,” as of 9:30 p.m. May 29.
Editor’s note: Becker’s Hospital Review reached out to Allegheny Health Network for comment and will update the report as more information becomes available.
