The hospital, which is affiliated with Birmingham, Ala.-based UAB Medicine, made the selection with the help of IT consulting firm CareCloud’s medSR division. The EHR will replace the facility’s legacy Meditech Magic system.
“Implementing a new EHR solution can be a daunting task for any healthcare organization,” Russell Medical CFO Matt Fisher said in a Dec. 5 CareCloud news release. “Asking our staff and physicians to take on something like this without additional implementation support was out of the question, as we need to focus on delivering quality care for our patients.”
Mr. Fisher stated that medSR helped simplify what would have been “an extremely complicated and difficult process.”
