Drug companies launch digital collaboration to increase physician access to information

Six global pharmaceutical companies have joined forces with cloud-based software company Veeva Systems to establish Align Biopharma, a technology-focused industry standards group.

Through this collaboration, leadership representatives from Allergan, AstraZeneca, Biogen, Glaxosmithkline, Novartis and Pfizer aim to develop industry standards to increase healthcare professionals’ access to drug and treatment information.

Align Biopharma’s initial focus is on two projects:

  • Creating a single sign-on portal for healthcare professionals to access websites, virtual events and webinars across all companies.
  • Defining standards related to consent and preference management so healthcare professionals have consistency when communicating with pharmaceutical companies.
