DoD appoints new principal deputy CIO

The U.S. Department of Defense has named John Zangardi, PhD, as its principal deputy CIO, according to Federal News Radio.

Dr. Zangardi assumed his duties Oct. 2. He replaced David DeVries, who took the CIO position at the Office of Personnel Management this summer.

Previously, Dr. Zangardi served as deputy assistant secretary for the U.S. Navy for command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, information operations and space.
