The Department of Veterans Affairs deployed its Oracle Health EHR at three VA hospitals in Indiana on Aug. 22.
The go-live covered the Northern Indiana Health Care System’s facilities in Fort Wayne and Marion, and the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis, along with 16 associated clinics across the state, according to an Aug. 24 news release from the VA.
More than 102,000 veterans and 6,000 VA clinicians and staff in Indiana are now on the new system. Nationally, VA has deployed the Oracle Health EHR at 11 hospitals in 2026, putting more than 617,000 veterans and 35,000 clinicians and staff on the platform.
VA said the EHR system enables seamless transfer of military health records among VA, the Department of War and other federal partners, integrates private-sector health information into VA care, and reduces duplicate testing by making prior results accessible across facilities.
The Indiana go-live comes as the ceiling on VA’s Oracle Health EHR contract has grown to $26.9 billion, following an Aug. 18 modification extending the deal to May 16, 2031. VA originally awarded the contract, then valued at $9.99 billion, to Cerner Government Services, now Oracle Health Government Services, in May 2018.
VA’s next scheduled deployments are set for October at the Alaska VA Healthcare System in Anchorage and the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center.
