Tech company valuations decline in Q3, report says

The valuations of tech companies declined in the third quarter of 2022, indicating that investors remained cautious and limited their risk exposure compared to the first two quarters of 2022, a new report from market research firm CB Insights found.

Five takeaways from the report:

 

  1. Series D and greater financing rounds fell by 27 percent in the third quarter compared to the second quarter.
  2. Seed and angel investment grew by 29 percent year over year.
  3. Series C investment fell by 21 percent year over year.
  4. Series A investment grew by 20 percent year over year.
  5. Series B investment slipped by 16 percent in the third quarter compared to the second quarter.
