New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health and K Health have formed a joint venture to expand access to primary care across New York through a new virtual platform.
The service, called Northwell Primary Care Now, uses K Health’s clinical-grade AI to provide around-the-clock access to primary care. Patients can use the platform to schedule same-day appointments with Northwell clinicians, connect with a physician virtually or be directed to an in-person visit, according to a Nov. 20 news release.
The platform is fully integrated with Northwell’s system, allowing information collected during virtual interactions to connect with care delivered across its facilities. Before an appointment, patients interact with an AI medical chat tool that gathers symptom information and prepares it for the physician, which the organizations say streamlines intake and allows clinicians to focus more of the visit on care.
