Greenville, N.C.-based ECU Health has begun installing Artisight’s smart hospital technology at five of its hospitals.
The telehealth platform will launch at ECU Health Bertie, Chowan, Roanoke-Chowan, Duplin and North hospitals, with plans to expand systemwide over the next year, according to a Dec. 4 news release.
ECU aims to improve access to specialized telehealth services in eastern North Carolina, where it serves 29 counties. The platform, which features two-way video and audio, will enable patients to receive care from specialists while staying in their local hospital room and extend the reach of hospital staff through virtual monitoring.
Brian Floyd, RN, COO of ECU Health, said the addition will help remove care barriers in rural communities.
