Digital health: Who’s up, who’s down

The digital health market is constantly changing, with new startups coming onto the scene and more established companies restructuring their strategies.

Companies that had a good week: 

 

  1. Enveda Biosciences, a drug discovery platform that uses machine learning, raised $68 million in a series B funding round and debt financing agreement.
  2. Carbon Health, a primary care and telehealth company, is looking to disrupt the EHR business. 

 

Companies that had a bad week:

 

  1. BioTelemetry, a remote monitoring and telehealth company, paid nearly $45 million to settle allegations that it improperly billed Medicare by outsourcing heart monitoring services to India.
  2. Headspace Health, a digital meditation and mental health app, laid off 4 percent of its staff.
