Desert Springs Hospital Introduces App to Promote Weight Loss Surgeries

Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas has launched a new smartphone app that allows users to see how they might look following weight loss surgery, according to a Vegas, Inc report.

After uploading a photo to the app, users can “gently swipe away the extra pounds from your body, receiving an instant preview of how a bariatric procedure can transform your physique,” hospital officials told Vegas, Inc.

Desert Springs CEO Sam Kaufman underwent gastric-sleeve weight-loss surgery earlier this year, and has since lost more than 100 pounds. Noting such major surgery is a serious undertaking, he told Vegas, Inc, he hopes the new app will be a “tool to help you make that decision.”
