Lewiston-based Central Maine Medical Center shut down its IT applications after detecting unusual activity within its computer software, the hospital said in a June 2 Facebook post.
The hospital’s technicians secured and turned off all IT applications and hardware, including network servers and phone systems, according to the post.
“The hospitals and physician offices will be informing patients if elective procedures and office visits will be rescheduled,” the post read.
Central Maine Medical Center did not say whether the activity was due to a cyberattack.
