The Leadership in Health Care Privacy and Security Risk Management certificate program graduated its pilot class of 16 participants in August and plans to offer the program again in spring 2020. The eight-week curriculum is designed to address the current shortage of security, compliance and risk management officials in the healthcare industry.
“We are excited to offer this program to give students knowledge, leadership skills and problem-solving competencies to protect patients from the irreparable harm that comes from the relentless cyberattacks on healthcare organizations,” said Leanne Field, PhD, a clinical professor and the director for digital healthcare innovation at UT Austin and codirector of the new certificate program.
