Tupelo-based North Mississippi Health Services shut down a data breach within 17 minutes of its IT system being accessed, the health system said.

Two New York hospitals reported a cyberattack on Aug. 31 that disrupted operations, according to a report from 7 News.

Ocean Springs, Miss.-based Singing River Health System said its Epic EHR system was hacked during a Aug. 21 cyberattack, hindering some of its day-to-day operations, WLOX reported Aug. 30. 

The FBI announced it has taken down Qakbot, a botnet network that enabled the attack on Prospect Medical Group, Bloomberg reported Aug. 29.

A survey of 1,100 cybersecurity, engineering, IT and networking professionals from healthcare organizations reported that 60 percent of cyberattacks have had a moderate or substantial impact on care delivery. 

Springfield, Ill.-based Hospital Sisters Health System and Green Bay, Wis.-based Prevea Health are experiencing sporadic phone access and have reported that their websites and computer applications have been experiencing an outage since Aug. 27, the Green Bay Press Gazette reported.

Upland, Pa.-based Crozer Health confirmed to Becker's that its computer systems are back online after an Aug. 3 ransomware attack on its parent company, Prospect Medical Holdings, rendered them offline.
