Kettering (Ohio) Health plans to restore access to its MyChart patient portal this week following a May 20 ransomware attack, the Dayton (Ohio) Daily News reported.

“The goal is, by [June 9], we’re resuming normal operations,” Kettering Health CEO Mike Gentry said in an update to staff quoted in the June 6 story. “Now, that doesn’t mean everything’s back online, but it means from our patient and consumer standpoint, patients will be able to interact with us in a way that they are accustomed to in the past.”

The 14-hospital system took its IT systems offline following the cyberattack, which was later found to be perpetrated by ransomware gang Interlock. The health system reinstated the core internal functionality of its Epic EHR on June 2.

About 80% of phones, lab systems and imaging equipment are restored, with work continuing to bring back internet access and pharmacy systems, according to the story
