A list of names, medical record numbers and medical procedures for the roughly 600 Kaiser Permanente members were inadvertently delivered to an incorrect email address Aug. 9, according to Kaiser Permanente officials.
The enclosed information did not include Social Security numbers, financial information or other member information.
“Upon immediate investigation, we quickly determined the cause of the incident and are taking all appropriate steps, including those required by state and federal law, to protect the members’ personal information and prevent a recurrence,” reads an Aug. 30 statement emailed to Becker’s Hospital Review.
