IRhythm Holdings, the maker of the Zio cardiac monitoring patch, has identified a cybersecurity incident and launched an investigation with outside experts.
IRhythm reported June 15 that it activated its incident response plans after detecting the breach, working with external advisors to assess the scope. The company has not specified when the incident occurred or how many individuals may be affected.
The company said it has found no impact to its products, clinical or medical device systems, customer connections, manufacturing and distribution operations, or patient safety. IRhythm also said it does not store individual financial account information or payment card data.
“As we actively investigate, we will notify individuals affected by this incident in accordance with applicable law and take steps as needed to protect and remediate the impact to them,” the company stated.
