Gritman Medical Center in Moscow, Idaho, has resumed normal operations across its offices and clinics after a cybersecurity incident forced widespread closures, though some phone outages persist at rural locations.
All Gritman offices and clinics reopened on regular schedules April 6 following disruptions tied to the incident and a broader systems outage, according to an update posted on the hospital’s website.
The disruption stemmed from a cybersecurity incident earlier in the week that temporarily closed multiple clinics and offices across the system. By April 3, operations began coming back online as teams worked to restore affected systems, the hospital said.
Hospital operations, including the emergency department, remained open throughout the outage. The system’s QuickCARE walk-in clinic also resumed normal operations April 3, according to the website.
As of April 6, phone lines remained down at four sites — Kendrick Family Medicine, Potlatch Family Medicine, Troy Family Medicine and LCSC Warrior Health — as the organization continues restoring electronic systems.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing, with an external forensic review planned to determine the cause. Preliminary findings indicate no unauthorized access to Gritman’s electronic systems and no compromise of patient or secure data.
Gritman officials said staff have been working to restore services and reschedule appointments affected by the disruption. Clinic representatives remain available by phone at locations not impacted by the outage.
