The Cybersecurity Working Group of the Health Sector Coordinating Council has published a guide to help hospitals and health systems manage AI-related cyber threats.
The report addresses a range of threats, from traditional, reactive, machine-learning tactics to agentic AI systems capable of autonomous hacks.
“This comprehensive guide is a must-read for all healthcare organizations, vendors and suppliers as the development and implementation of various forms of AI into healthcare settings has become widespread at tremendous speed and scale,” stated John Riggi, AHA national advisor for cybersecurity and risk at the American Hospital Association, in a June 1 news release. “Mitigating AI cybersecurity risk is part of cyber safety, and cyber safety is patient safety.”
