In the lawsuit, patients alleged the health system failed to protect their personal information from hackers. Although the health system did not admit any wrongdoing, it has agreed to give class action members the following:
- Up to $850 to class members who reported economic losses as a result of the data breach.
- Up to $40 for time lost dealing with the data breach.
- Up to two years of free identity-protection services.
Class action members have up until Dec. 21 to object to the settlement, and up to Feb. 20 to submit claims for reimbursement and to enroll in identity-theft protection.
