Health system officials noticed suspicion activity June 14 related to its payroll system. Upon launching an investigation, officials discovered an unauthorized third party had gained access to some employee email accounts.
NCH Healthcare is working with a forensic team to determine the scope of the attack.
“While NCH has no evidence of actual or attempted misuse of information presented in the employee email accounts, in an abundance of caution, NCH is currently undertaking a comprehensive review of the data in those email accounts to confirm what records may be compromised,” the health system said in a statement, according to Naples Daily News.
