For its 2019 Healthcare Data Privacy Maturity Study, Integris Software, a data privacy software provider, surveyed 258 business and IT executives from healthcare, technology and financial services organizations about their thoughts on data privacy and security.

Three survey insights:

1. Regarding routine data sharing and collection, 53 percent of participants said they required access to 50 or more data sources to get a clear understanding of where their sensitive data resides.

2. Fifty percent of respondents said they update their personal data at least once a year and don’t maintain a continuous view of their data under management. This opposes the 70 percent of respondents who said they felt confident in their data privacy management.

3. Most respondents (95 percent) said they have data privacy teams in place to protect against cyberattacks. About a quarter (27 percent) of those respondents said their data privacy teams comprise at least 25 people.
