The “State of the CISO” report surveyed 200 CISOs and equivalent senior security personnel in the U.S. and U.K. about how the role fits into their larger industries. Here are three additional findings from the report, all of which demonstrate the growing necessity of a strong cybersecurity framework.
1. Nearly 100 percent of security leaders agreed that senior executives in their organizations have a clearer understanding of cybersecurity than they did just five years ago.
2. Two-thirds of respondents reported that their organizations prioritize cybersecurity over all other business considerations.
3. A total of 76 percent of those surveyed said they believe cybersecurity risk has become such a major issue that CISOs could soon be in the running for CEO positions.
