The hospital described the breach as a hacking/IT incident. Mount Desert Island Hospital first discovered the breach May 4, according to a June 5 notice from the hospital.
Potentially impacted information includes patient names, dates of birth, driver’s license numbers, Social Security numbers, financial account information and medical record information. The hospital said it is unaware of any misuse resulting from the data breach.
