The HIE will enable physicians and hospitals to share patient information. It will also use analytic tools to improve clinical outcomes and reduce inefficiencies. The project will build on the work of the Kansas Health Information Network, another statewide HIE.

The organizations expect to launch the HIE in summer of 2017.
