Congressman calls for firing of OPM CIO following historic data breach

Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) has called on Beth Cobert, acting director of the Office of Personnel Management,to fire OPM CIO Donna Seymour following her failure to prevent the OPM data breach in April.

In a letter to Ms. Cobert, Rep. Chaffetz wrote that he is "deeply troubled that Ms. Seymour remains at her post over a month after" he initially communicated his concerns to President Obama over her ability to execute her role.

The OPM data breach, which has been linked to Chinese hackers, resulted in the compromised records of an estimated more than 21.5 million people.
