Reps. Suzan DelBene, D-Wash, and Fred Upton, R-Mich., formed the bipartisan caucus to highlight medical device and technology breakthroughs that can improve healthcare delivery, according to a July 16 press release. Ms. DelBene said Washington has more than 600 medical technology start-ups and businesses, and hopes the caucus will educate her colleagues on how to ensure those companies can continue to innovate in the future.
Michigan also is a hot bed for medtech and medical device manufacturing. “In southwest Michigan, employers like Stryker, which lead the medical device industry in ground-breaking research and innovation, power our economy and create hundreds of good-paying jobs,” he said.
