Five things to know:
1. With more than 18 years of experience in clinical and bio-informatics, Dr. Roche is responsible for clinical, technical and interoperability strategies in his new role at CMS, according to his LinkedIn page.
2. Dr. Roche will also focus on technology innovation and applying new developments to clinical delivery and outcomes.
3. At ONC, Dr. Roche specialized in standards for document structure, metadata and terminology for initiatives including the Structured Data Capture & Data Access Framework and the E.U.-U.S. eHealth Cooperative Initiative.
4. Previously, Dr. Roche served as a member of the Healthcare Information Systems and Management Society’s Physician Committee, which aimed to provide expertise and guidance to HIMSS physician and medical informatics’ activities and initiatives.
5. Dr. Roche is also a former adjunct professor at Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago.
