As CIO, Ms. McNutt oversees the long-term strategic IT plan of the five acute-care hospitals, 28 family health centers and five academic teaching clinics of the health system. Ms. McNutt is directly responsible for 86 information systems and operates an annual information systems budget of $18 million plus $6 million in biomed.
In her 21-year career with Methodist Health System, Ms. McNutt has been instrumental in the deployment of key systems, including a clinical documentation system, financial revenue system, picture archiving and communications system and electronic medication verification robots.
Before joining Methodist Health System, Ms. McNutt was administrative director of information systems and programming manager at Hermann Hospital in Houston. She also spent five years with HBO & Co., which has since been acquired by McKesson.
Ms. McNutt is a fellow of both HIMSS and CHIME, having served on both organizations’ board of directors.
