Cerner opens health clinic in India

In a move to support its associates' health and wellness, Kansas City, Mo.-based Cerner has opened an on-site health center in Bangalore, India, the company's fourth wellness associate center and first global location.

Called the Healthe at Cerner Center, the clinic is located at Cerner's Manyata campus in Bangalore, India. In addition to a health clinic, the center features a fitness center, health coaching and educational opportunities for the 2,200 associates who work there.

The center offers primary and urgent care, wellness programs, routine screenings, physical exams, lab and pharmacy delivery services, and diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses.

The care suites are equipped with Cerner's Millennium EHR, becoming the first use of this technology in a patient care environment in India. Clinicians from Manipal Hospital will staff the center.

"Cerner is more than a health information technology company. We're a company focused on putting the individual at the center of healthcare, which starts with our associates," Julie Wilson, executive vice president and chief people officer of Cerner, said in a statement.
