Cerner earnings increase 44.8% from Q2 2015 to Q2 2016

Cerner has released its financial results from the second quarter of 2016, which ended July 2.

Here are four things to know about the results.

1. On a GAAP basis, earnings increased 44.8 percent from the second quarter of 2015 to the second quarter of 2016. Net earnings for the second quarter of 2016 were $166.5 million, while net earnings for the second quarter of 2015 were $115 million.

2. Bookings increased 9 percent during the same time period. For the second quarter of 2016, bookings were at $1.40 billion. Bookings were at $1.29 billion for the second quarter of 2015.

3. Revenue increased 8 percent between the second quarter of 2015 and the second quarter of 2016. Cerner’s revenue in the second quarter of 2016 was $1.216 billion, which compares to a revenue of $1.126 billion in the second quarter of 2015.

4. Adjusted net earnings rose 8.9 percent during the same time period. In the second quarter of 2016, Cerner’s adjusted net earnings were $199.2 million. The company’s adjusted net earnings were $183 million during the second quarter of 2015.
