Syndromic surveillance is critical to improving public and population health. The CDC will contract a vendor that is able to establish standards and business requirements that can be adopted by public health agencies. The recommended standards must also accommodate stakeholders without “impeding innovation,” according to the announcement.
The CDC will likely award a one-year contract agreement and is accepting responses to its announcement for the 30-day period following May 25.
