1. CareFirst is requesting proposals from qualified nonprofit organizations or government entities for telemedicine programs serving Maryland, northern Virginia and Washington, D.C., according to the report.
2. “While increased utilization of telecommunication technology has enabled healthcare providers to better evaluate, diagnose and treat patients remotely, geographic disparities in Maryland, D.C., and Northern Virginia remain,” said Maria Tildon, CareFirst senior vice president of public policy and community affairs, according to the report.
3. CareFirst will accept online proposals through Nov. 23.
